From the Chief of Air Force:

I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Brett Marshall to the position of Director Air Force Museum. He will transition to this civilian role on 02 September 2019. Brett’s appointment follows a full selection and candidate interview process including external Museum sector advice and a strong field of candidates.

Since 2017, Brett has been XO, Deputy Director, and then Acting Director of the Air Force Museum. I want to take this opportunity to thank him for his exemplary leadership of the Museum team and the Christchurch Air Force community through Thérèse Angelo’s period of ill health and passing last year.

Brett is currently a uniformed Wing Commander in the RNZAF. He has extensive operational and leadership experience. He has a close personal affinity with Air Force heritage and is able to connect past and present in support of the Air Force Mission. As the civilian Director he will lead a team of dedicated specialists and volunteers to embrace opportunities in the next phase of Museum development. He will also stay part of the Air Force as a Reservist Officer.

Brett has my full confidence and that of the Museum Trust Board. Please join me in congratulating Brett on his appointment.
